Hey guys (and gals),

The next version/update is looking just about done. Please keep a look out over the weekend or so for details. I'll probably post here as well just to be safe.

Onto another matter, I am debating discontinuing Quantopian support as they're no longer going to permit broker integration/live trading. I don't really think it is worth the extra effort and think I can expand upon the signal library much quicker by reducing this workload.

If there are any of you that are utterly opposed to this please drop me a line here or via email!

On the other hand, I've decided to go ahead and add Pro Real Time capabilities (with the help of a few users). This coding language is simple enough (similar to TradeStation's EasyLanguage) and should not delay new signal implementation at all.

Thanks and keep a lookout for future updates,

Dave

Pro Realtime Capabilities will be brilliant new feature to have, looking forward to it.

Enjoy your week off.

How about Amibroker AFL language support?

Amibroker is a powerful platform as well as cheap compared to others.

The only issue with Amibroker's AFL is that its way of managing all the backtest and indicator code with arrays makes it prone to inadvertently introduce look forwards during backtests, but due to this, AFL code is very fast.

I'm not opposed. Let this be an invitation for all BA users to start a  possible template!

but I really still want a new Python solution for a few reasons!

Have you looked into Quantconnect? I know a lot of Quantopian people are migrating there and I think you can run strategies for ~$20 a month.

There is also iBridgePy but I'm not sure exactly how that works. Or perhaps some integration with Excel.

I'd be happy to see Amibroker too but I'm not sure whether it is the best solution for autotrading since it's pretty complex (happy to be proved wrong though).

Yeah, Quantconnect is certainly the front runner. I've been exploring the IB API as well.

Hey,

No, they weren't very receptive or helpful with the idea to be honest. More importantly, there is a Build Alpha user building a Quantopian competitor which will permit python trading which I would much rather support! I am leaning back towards IBpy as well. BA might soon permit brokerage connections, however so all this might be a moot point.

Thanks,

David

Thanks Dave!

Sounds cool that BA might permit brokage connection and that there's a BA user building a Quantopian competitor which will permit python trading. Please let us know which site it is once it's up and running  😉
